In most countries, research is made from academics with mandatory publication for medical educators. Each publication draws significant resources in terms of manpower, time, financial and other valuable resources. However, publications have evolved to be a mark of scholarly professionalism, which should be known from time to time, including promotion, grants and other educational incentives. There are currently various yard sticks available.Medline and Pubmed are one among them.
